OBJECTIVE
Partners of the TopLogic Ecosystem want to establish an information hub that serves to provide automatically qualitative and quantitative evaluations of the results of corona tests. Companies thus receive information in real time in order to be able to assess the risks of providing service.
Location-specific information about the development of new infections is provided by comparing any available historical status. The smallest unit of a locality can be a measuring station, which is located, e.g., at the entrance of an access control area. Using individual measuring stations, cascading evaluations can be conducted according to criteria such as time, region, affiliation to an organization, and other similar attributes.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Several medical technology companies such as Bosch Healthcare Solutions, Roche Diagnostics, Siemens Healthineers and Abbot Laboratories are developing measuring stations where the diagnostic period can be reduced from the current 2 days to sometimes just a few minutes. The goal is also to design these stations for mass testing.
THE BENEFIT
For companies where crowds form at entrances and create bottlenecks, the testing conducted should provide transparency on the status of infections and the psychological safety for employees. The actions of state institutions and companies show that no organization was prepared for a pandemic of the scope and nature that Corona caused. To make matters worse, infection can be communicated before carriers of the virus feel any symptom of infection. The early warning system will contribute toward optimizing information logistics as well as data currency and quality, and it can be integrated using current track and trace apps.
THE CHALLENGE
New procedures and the automation of testing will lead to significant cost reductions compared to costs today, so that the implementation of mass testing will be both possible and economically justifiable.
For the early warning system, a distribution model must be developed in order to be able to determine how many people must belong to a sample in order to be able to make valid, probability-based statements about the infection of a population. In order to be able to conduct mass testing, companies / testing personnel must be granted the right to collect and process personal data and forward test results either in advance or permission must be granted in a simple manner immediately before testing is conducted.
SUCCESS FACTORS
TopLogic Ecosystem Partners will contribute their product, process and service expertise. The partners see their commitment as a contribution toward coping with the crisis triggered by the corona virus and thus also as an innovative symbol for the real fulfillment of corporate social responsibility.
The early warning system in its first expansion phase will be provided quickly and promptly in order to achieve effects in the current crisis. Solution development is conducted in a spirit of cooperation in order to achieve good for everybody.
